That was my thought jgnat.
Just more tightfistedness by the WTBS. They just refuse to be generous in any useful way.
i thought the kingdom ministry feb 2014 had a couple interesting things in it:.
1. a short talk encouraging the jw sales force to publicize the jw.org website at every opportunity.. 2. do not put out bibles on your table displays keep them hidden underneath.
i thought they were so p-p-p-p-proud of their new nwt??.

It doesn't matter what the motive is for not displaying the bibles. I thought Jesus said something about not hiding your light under a basket, but rather display it on top for all to see?
But, JWs aren't christians, are they?
hey guys !
i've stopped believing the watchtower crap a few years ago.
i achieved this on my own, despite being raised as one.
Hi there. Good luck on making it out completely.
i have some potentially controversial questions.. i have always wondered about these things in the back of my mind, but i would immediately dismiss them.
now i am giving myself permission to explore them further.... a lot of attention is given to how big the sacrifice was on the part of jesus and god when jesus laid down his life.
as the story goes, jesus gave his life for our sins and then was miraculously raised back to life a couple of days later.. consider this.
Nope. You're right. At most, he sacrificed 3 days of human existence. That's it. The other one that gets me is the belief that no one has suffered a worse torture/death than Jesus. Many people have suffered longer and harder than Jesus.
talk about brainwashed.he was serving in ghana when he learned that his mother's health had become very poor.. friends suggested that he return home to care for her.what was his reply:"that was the hardest decision we ever had to make.. he did return to help her (poor sick mother)to get to meetings.. to me that is a no brainer.if my mother was sick,i would be there in a heart beat.however,to a cult member who is selfish and.
lacks compassion that would be a hard decision..
Such loving christians they are. And, of course, the more prominent and exemplary the witness, the greater the difficulty in relinquishing those privileges of service.
what is it about this show that compells you to tune in?
is it the cool choppers?
lol, no - really, i want to know.. a friend of my hubby's, when he learned we like the walking dead, said, "if you like that show, you'll love sons of anarchy.".
I agree SFPW. Because Jax came across so sanctimonious, he's more unlikeable than Clay at this point. And don't even get me started on Gemma. All that crying this past episode and acting like she has always hated Clay... I don't think so.

Excellent writing and antagonist/protagonist situations. Someone told us to watch the 1st 3 episodes and we'd get hooked. We really did! It's a very good story with good character development.
And it's also time for them to wrap it up. It can only be dragged on for so long.
ETA: Yeah there are a few brutal scenes throughout the episodes. If you can let someone who's watched it know what episodes you're on they can give you a heads up on when to look away for a couple minutes. I can't stand torture or brutal killing/rape scenes.
this was brought up just in passing on another thread.
but i wanted to see if there are any bethelites or ex bethelites that remember some of the crazy rules we had to follow when we were there..
^^^ I think someone must've been jealous because they didn't have that skillset
my wife has told her jw best friend and jw sister that she is givng up the religion!!
and there was i worrying about losing her when i left the cult.
and, to top it all, my 15 and 13 year old children are using their critical thinking skills and can see it all for what it is.
That is the best news ever!!!!!
ususally i wouldn't come here to announce that two dudes in polyester suits with cheap ties wanted to convert me.
i am long past that "excitement", been out for a couple of years now.
this was the first time they rang my door bell.
"Me: WTF is going on here?"
